NEFC values God’s Word and the preaching and teaching of its truth. We seek to love God, each other, and the people God brings to our community. We desire to grow together in our walk with Jesus and share Him with others as we wait for His return!

Our Purpose:

Glorifying God by making Jesus Christ the center of all we do.

Our Mission:

Developing an authentic commitment to following Jesus Christ by serving in the church, community, and the world.

Our Vision:

We are a growing fellowship developing ministers and ministries empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach our community for Christ.

Our Story:

On June 1,1980, Grace Bible Church held its first Sunday worship service. Originally a non-denominational church, we spent our first few years growing and building our octagonal building beside the cornfields that eventually became Target and Cub Foods.

In April 1989, we joined the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and changed our name, too.  All along, NEFC has been involved in spreading the joy of the Gospel to the ends of the earth, including right here in beautiful, historic Northfield.

Lead Pastor

Pastor Anderson Clare began serving on the elder team at NEFC in the spring of 2021. As the lead pastor, Andy preaches the majority of Sundays throughout the year. Along with the other elders, Andy prays for and attends to the spiritual care of our church family. He is thankful for the team of elders at NEFC with whom he serves. Andy enjoys hiking and camping and frequents Menards.

Pastor Andy and his wife, Caroline, studied at Phoenix Seminary in Scottsdale, Arizona. Andy graduated in 2018 with a Master of Divinity. Caroline completed her MA in Ministry at Phoenix Seminary and her PhD in English from Arizona State University. They are happy to be back in the Midwest, having grown up in central MN and northern NE.
